The Jimmy Rane Foundation is dedicated to providing college scholarships to deserving students and strengthening our communities through education projects and grants.

The Jimmy Rane Foundation was created with a simple, yet powerful idea: “It’s about giving something back.” That was the guiding principle for James W. “Jimmy” Rane when he established the Foundation in 2000. And that’s exactly what he and countless sponsors have been able to do since then. Over the years, the Jimmy Rane Foundation has awarded 680 college scholarships to outstanding and deserving students. The awards are given with the idea and hope that these students will one day return the favor to someone else in need.

Jimmy Rane is living proof of the American Dream. He believes in honest, hard work and he has built the company he founded, Great Southern Wood Preserving, Incorporated, into the industry’s largest. He gives credit for his success to his parents and grandparents, who have motivated him by example. Working hard, taking chances and helping others in need was the way they lived.

Jimmy Rane is proud to continue leading by their example of giving back, and he is equally proud to share his family’s story with a book about their lives – Mr. Tony’s Lessons of La Famiglia. Naturally, all proceeds from the book go to the Jimmy Rane Foundation.

Each year, the single biggest fundraising event for the Jimmy Rane Foundation is the annual charity golf tournament. Superstars of football and basketball come together and demonstrate the character, leadership and charity of the Jimmy Rane Foundation. The tournament is an amazing two days that gives hard-working kids the financial means to an education they’ve already earned. In addition to college scholarships, the Foundation is active throughout the year supporting local communities and education projects with grants and other initiatives.

Work hard. Give back. It’s a really simple idea. And yet, the Jimmy Rane Foundation has proven that it really works.
